I'll be straight with it - I don't know words. I am bad at the game of talking. I cannot get the friggin prophet to react to anything I say. Perhaps I am noun-deficient and just don't know what to ask about.

None of the other moonies I've encountered over the past couple of days have known what is required either, so I'm forced to come to the boards.

Ask about quest, IIRC.

yeah thats what I figured, but he doesn't respond to "ask prophet about quest" - I get the auto non-response. Should I maybe assist on this?

I'm afraid I've tried that too. "ask prophet for quest", "ask prophet about quest" both just get me "A blind prophet just gives you a curious look."

Door? Maze? Task? I forget what exactly it is.

Try nodding to him? Make sure you have all the pre-req spells, appropiate level, spell slot and that you're talking to the correct prophet.

I have detailed notes on how to go about through this quest. I think it was from a post a long, long time ago. If you should be interested in these notes please email me at my play.net address. Also if you have skill with the wiki (as i have none) and would not mind spending the time to add the quest info to the wiki, i would be glad to forward you this info as well.

Ok, door is the one noun mentioned here that I haven't tried, so I'll give that a shot.

I have a spell slot open, and definitely meet the prerequs, so that's not the problem.

Thanks for all the feedback from everyone!

I hope you figure it out and can get started on the real deal. That mini quest was one of the best designed and most fun I've been on.

meh, I can't get anything to work. I'm guessing this particular prophet thinks I slept with his sister or something - he's got nothing for me.

I think that's about as in depth as the discussion should go. Any subsequent detailed posts will be removed. Thanks in advance!

If I remember right it should be something like ask prophet about magic or something silly like that.

I know I was one of the very few who had it pre-magic 2.0
but that was so long ago I can't remember I know alot of people picked it up when they made it so you could just read a book and learn it >.> that wasn't any fun.

I eventually got it to work out - it turned out I got some bad advice in game that was leading me astray.

I really love the spell, as it turns out. Works beautifully with my hunting style.

Congrats, and welcome to the club. Very few actually like the spell. I have all 4th tier TM spells, and while i don't think SLS is the most useful, it is still my favorite.

That was only for the cantrips. I had to do the quest twice as well.

SLS does have a few very practical uses that other spells lack, like against the "pirates" in town on Hara.

I considered the spell but there are just so many factors to it.... has to be nighttime, cant be in water, cloud cover lessens its power. All those just kinda killed it for me. If it had some other utilities or less drawbacks for a high level quested spell then Id prolly get it since I think they look fairly neat.

I just want to add that I've never noticed any lessening of power during cloudy nights. I've not actually looked for it though. Duration, power, difficulty to cast all seem constant.

The main problem with SLS is that I lock TM way too fast with it.

Interesting fact... the shadow critters under Taisgath wont teach TM from SLS hits.

>>If it had some other utilities

The main reasons I love SLS, in order:

1. I am lazy and it does most of the work for me.
2. It trains PM and harness very well outside of combat with very little mana.
3. It looks really freakin cool.
4. It pairs very nicely with WD - since you're not repeatedly casting, the stuns from displacing don't matter. This allows super happy fun overhunting.
5. It is hands down the most mana-efficient, least effort way to train TM that I've ever seen.

I love it for its ability to teach TM, which is close to mindbogglingly well

Its also hands down, best critical damage in the game.
Its also ironically the highest cold damage in the game.

Also while it is "weaker" during cloud cover in all honesty its not noticable enough for it to matter, if anything its low accuracy makes more of a penalty then the cloud cover.
