Type: Cyclic utility.
Description: Fine control of the moongate spell allows you to create a small, localized distortion. While the small, agile portal has practical advantages in trade and commerce, skilled mages have been known to weaponize the chaotic fields.
OOC: Description: Allows you to create a small opening between you and one of your moon beams. You can trade objects, barter, and otherwise interact with the room through this portal. Cast <moon> to support foraging (with penalty), stealing (with bonus to steal), barter, give, tip. Moving your beam will move the distortion.

Use:

* touch distortion (it opens a little wider, becoming your reach). The next action you take will occur in the room with a small verby messaging.
* rub distortion. Attempt to hide the distortion. Based on utility magic + stealth.
* Gesture distortion. RP verb. Throws an item in your hand at the distortion. It'll fly wildly in the room, maybe hitting something or someone.

Someone in the room tries to touch the distortion: You reach for the distortion but it shimmers out of the way.

Oh, and getting caught stealing may cause you to lose focus. That's a good way to lose arms or fingers.

Type: Targeted / debilitation
Description: Sometimes our... assistants are less than willing to provide a stable anchor point. This spell has been known to persuade them to do otherwise. The pressures of maintaining this spell are immense, and it will hinder your ability to manipulate lunar light.
OOC: Treats the person as if you've focused a moonbeam on them. You can gate or teleport directly to them without focusing a beam (normal restrictions apply), you can seer's sense them more easily, and it interacts with localized distortion to allow attacking the target from any range or even rooms away.

Maintain localized distortion.
Use: Pre beacon, cast on your target.

Opens up weapon based combat verbs.
* Jab/thrust/lunge distortion will now send your sword through the distortion at the person or creature on the other side.
* Tap distortion. (while holding a moon blade) You put your moonblade through the distortion and close it quickly, shattering the blade on the other side. The shards will then fly at the person whom you have a beacon on as if you cast a TKS targeting just them. Power determined by mix of beacon and distortion mana.
* Pull distortion will attempt to pull the distortion through a part of their body (no prep partial displacement)
