3. Countless wisps of light sprout in the darkness most are swiftly extinguished. Soon, only six remain in a circle about you. Six slender pillars of light, their surface slicked with condensation. You focus on each of these in turn, bending them towards you, uniting them into a frail hemispherical shelter under which you sit.

4. Your mind is cleared of distraction, the present and the mundane. You are adrift in an unbroken sea of silent darkness. As time draws out, a muted, yet persistent drone of alien chatter arises inquiries into your nature, declarations of identity, accusations, unfiltered emotions and abstract impressions all assault your tranquility. These, too, you rebuff as you return to the darkness.

5. A chorus of voices fills your mind, a cacophony of languages both known and unfamiliar. They overlap, merge, submerge, muffle and distort. You hone in on one voice at a time, memorizing its unique cadence before shifting your focus to the next voice. As you come to know their message, their words, their intent, you realize the throng of voices is really one voice, one language, one truth."
