Tactics as a Lore skill 08/21/2014 09:28 PM CDT

Tactics shows up under lore when I check my experience, but for the purposes of circling, it seems to be ignored as a top lore skill. Is tactics supposed to be an ineligible skill for moon mages, does it count as a different skill group, or is this a bug?

Tactics worked fine for me as primary lore.

Tactics works fine for me as a circling requirement. In fact, I recently made a concerted effort to switch it with Mechanical Lore to become my second lowest and lowest lore requirements respectively and didn't experience a hitch with circling. Perhaps post your lore skills and circle and we can help clarify what is happening?

Sure, thank you. My understanding is that I need 62 ranks in my top lore, 48 in my 2nd, and 38 in my third:

Regarding your magic knowledge, you should work on Astrology.
Regarding your lore knowledge, you should work on 2nd Lore (Appraisal), 3rd Lore (Forging).

Forging: 15 34% clear (0/34) Engineering: 9 42% clear (0/34)
Outfitting: 9 81% clear (0/34) Alchemy: 10 20% clear (0/34)
Enchanting: 0 00% clear (0/34) Scholarship: 83 80% clear (0/34)
Mechanical Lore: 10 00% clear (0/34) Appraisal: 43 78% dabbling (1/34)
Performance: 14 26% clear (0/34) Tactics: 67 74% clear (0/34)

Scholarship should meet the top lore (which is met), but tactics should meet the second lore and appraisal the third. Instead, the game is reacting as if my third highest lore (appraisal) is my second highest, and fourth highest (forging) is my third.

That shows it working...

Scholarship and Astrology are hard reqs, and cannot be used for Top N skills.

I can answer this one.

Scholarship is a hard requirement that does not count as general lore. From the looks of it your tactics is your #1 lore.

Copy and paste your EXP ALL into this for a better picture that should explain everything you need to know for any circle you want to set.

This is correct. Scholarship cannot be used to meet any of the general lore requirements.
