Yes and no. You can certainly get more exp from enchanting certain things but all the material costs can add up. And dont just observe. Predict after each successful observation and then do a PREDICT ANALYZE. I lock mine pretty quickly that way. Doesnt hurt to toss in the occasional PREDICT WEATHER either.

Thanks - sorry for the dumb question, but is scribing a result of the enchanting quest? I am just recently back to DR.

I predict because it's marginally easier, but I seem to remember scribing limbs locking astro and mech pretty quickly.
