Where have all the Tear-Shaped Star Sapphires and Purple Amethysts gone? Anyone finding them? Where?

I still find purple amethysts, they tend to drop more in the mid-higher skill range I think... (Gryphons might be a little low to get them often, in my opinion?) The sapphires I've only ever personally found on Rock Trolls west of Kaerna.
