List of Current Empath Khalaen? 01/15/2014 11:16 PM CST
Is there an official list of the current Empath Khalaen (Modaen, Aevaen, and Wenaen)? This is what I have:

Modaen (Provincial Leaders)
Constanze (Zoluren)
Haaltekar (Forfedhdar)
Wyllen (?)

Aevaen
Edenlaen
Halfrida
Liadiya
Mirinn

Wenaen (Guildleaders)
Alris (Ratha/Aesry)
Dagreth (Forfedhdar)
Miriel (Shard): I'm assuming that "K'miriel" is just her formal title.
Nebela (Riverhaven)
Salvur (Crossing)

I'd love to know how long each has been serving too.

The listing here (except for Eksharo as Moda of Zoluren) is accurate:

It's also correct that there are a lot of Aev running around.

Also, I'm not sure why but I've always heard the plural of Moda to be Modien. I'm sure there's a reason but it's been lost to time.

Thanks!

The book Khalo: A Student's Primer gives Modien, but Gamgweth Grammar says:

PLURAL RULE III. ENDING IN OTHER VOWEL -When a Gamgweth word ends in a vowel other than i, drop the vowel and THEN add the "-aen" suffix.
Examples:
Audru (Storm) becomes Audraen (Storms)
Fewna (Rank) becomes Fewnaen (Ranks)
Reniso (Peninsula) becomes Renisaen (Peninsulas)
Khalo (Leader) becomes Khalaen (Leaders)

The singular is Moda, so if the word followed the normal rules of grammar, it would be Modaen. (The -ien ending is for nouns that end in i.)

Does Gamgweth have many irregular forms? The easiest way to reconcile the two would be to call it irregular.

>>Sarkranis: The book Khalo: A Student's Primer gives Modien

Actually, the book gives both forms an equal number of times. "Part One: The History of the Khalo" and the first paragraph of "The Khalo Today -- Basic Structure and Hierarchy" use Modaen. The book then switches to Modien.

"Although today's modern terms are similar to their original versions, the terms have evolved and have become somewhat simplified, with only the Moda/Modaen term retaining its singular and plural forms. Yet even that has undergone a simple spelling change. The information that follows reflects the current terminology used within the Empath's Guild, though some traditionalists maintain the use of the original language."
