Foiled... 03/19/2008 06:55 PM CDT
So I guess your guild guru didn't want me stealing another high powered Empath spell after the whole Regeneration incident, eh? Or am I just using this thing wrong?

>spell
As a bard, you can use SONG to list the enchantes you know.
You have learned Guardian Spirit [gs] from a scroll and must maintain at least a small bit less than half your normal attunement to keep it.

You are entitled to learn 13 more enchantes from your guild leader.

You are currently starting all enchantes at one(1) mana or minimum prep, whichever is greater.

You hear the booming voice of Lord Sorrow proclaim, "Wel, that is if there's anything left of you after the 'dillo gets done!"

>stand
You stand back up.
>l
[The Western Road, Vista]
Rolling plains stretch to a range of faraway mountains on the western horizon. The road, however, links the bluff and the rising ground to the northwest, a region of low ridges and small groves of trees. You also see a piece of hhr'lav'geluhh bark, a faded vellum with a price tag on it, a wax tablet, a clay tablet with a price tag on it, a tattered scroll, a tattered scroll, a yellowed scroll, a fine scroll and a narrow path.
Obvious paths: west, northwest.

>prepare GS
Since you're not feeding enough power into the spell pattern to make it coherent, you quickly work your way to the minimum required.
You close your eyes and breathe deeply, gathering energy for the Guardian Spirit spell.

You have a complete attunement to the mana flowing through this area.
You are currently starting all enchantes at one(1) mana or minimum prep, whichever is greater.

The mana you were holding contributes to the spell.
You manage to channel most of your energy into the spell. The rest is wasted.
You feel a pleasant tingle in your chest, but nothing else happens.

My question being how you got the spell in the first place...

And no, GS is one of the spells that specifically requires the ability to use Empathy.

I have a few ancient scrolls locked up that I've been just waiting to use. The test server just presented itself as a golden opportunity to test them all without any drawbacks.
