I had a moment of wishful thinking as I'm sitting with a dead body and no cleric in sight or thought. Why can't bards (or everyone) play songs for the dead? Psalms or dirges could slow down memory decay or spirit death. Perhaps even recovering spirit health/stopping memory loss when used with lilt or cry (never surpassing a cleric, of course). And while we're at it, how fun would it be to play a rousing jig for a ship's captain to make the boats move slightly faster between ports.
