Smallest Instruments? 12/20/2006 07:21 AM CST
Does anyone know what the smallest instruments from each instrument class are? I'm trying to fit all of my instruments in my cloak, or perhaps my hip pouch, and am having difficulty because some are too big.

If I had to wager a guess, I'd say txistu, castanets, and a lyre...

I would imagine zills are smaller than castanets.

Of course, a lot of the smaller instruments (which tend to be easier) don't teach appraisal well at high levels. So depending on what you are using the instruments for, keeping only small, easy instruments around may not be overly useful.

I don't try to train appraisal with instruments--I save that for creatures. It seems all I need to fit now is a string instrument, but my psaltery is too long. I'll try out a lyre, maybe that'll work. Thanks for the help.

Even on level 150 flex, or just on what you're hunting?

It teaches pretty well at-level. There are a couple of Barbs/WMs in TF with over 600 appraisal. It's just hard for a lore primary to keep it even with combats, especially with instruments working so well for us.

Yah, I still have another month or so of straight combat before i can move out of caracals... that is, if i ever decide to go back to combat (Trying to lock everything except combat down for 150th, then do all the combat at once). But, Gent is pretty much right on the nail, Appraise is always capping out much quicker than combats.

Further, why does parry suck, can't I just take up a third weapon to take its place?

ps. Gent: You circle past 100th yet?
I've only got like 3 or 4 more days left of stealth, then I'm moving to lang to lock up my climbing req, and some extra swimming for rossmans. By then i should have everything except combat for 120, 125. How are you fareing?

Parry is cake. I practically have enough shield ranks to accomodate that requirement, and that's at a tertiary rate.

I love parry! I just learn it for fun :) and to annoy robo :P

You have enough Parry Ability for circle 100 and need 3 (264) ranks for circle 101.

Oh, just let me add, I love parry! I've never knew people didn't get the skill naturally so I don't understand the problem!

You have enough Parry Ability for circle 113 and need 3 (316) ranks for circle 114.
