Inspired by Beowulf 12/28/2014 09:45 PM CST
Digging out some old stuff on the Guild and my character, I found a song, inspired by Beowulf, that I wrote several years ago. I ask if you use it you only reference hearing this long lost ballad from Lupdels the Rakash Bard.

Listen now as I weave an ancient tale
Of a warrior fierce with name lost
Who faced the terror of dragon scale.
After his death his glory faded
His deed forgotten but for this tale.

To face the guardian of the golden hoard
Under grey stone did he dare enter
Without companion save for his sword.
Through the radiant scales his sword plunged
And caused the death of the winged lord.

His daring had given him total hold
To dispose in his own mortal desires
A kingly fortune of dragon gold.
He loaded a boat with dazzling spoils
As the once fiery dragon turned cold.

Everywhere the hero's name was known
For his utter valiance and bravery.
Eventually he would sit upon the throne.
But death would come and time would pass
With memory now as dead as bone.

The life of a warrior is the same
To always fade away in time.
But hope remains for eternal fame
Through glorious deeds and battles brave.
So let song praise action while forgetting name.
