Below is a little log I uncovered from a long time ago, back when the Dragon Priests were hunting us down. I found it pretty enjoyable to read and figured I'd share.

Also in this log is a snippet of how the old Phoenix's Pyre used to function for all the new Bards who didn't know that it didn't always have a TM component.

Alas, my comrade Aveda was slain in this log.

You say, "Corlath, watch out for assassins, they may be lurking around."

Corlath searches around for a moment.
Corlath has spotted you!

From forward comes the cry "Cast off," and from below, "On the beat, harbor speed, Row!" A drumbeat sounds through the ship.

Corlath says, "Whoa."

You hear the voice of Aveda say, "I'm sure we can get them if we combine spells."

Passengers and cargo crowd the deck of the sleek, black galley. Below, visible through the large opening amidships, sit the tanned and muscular rowers, one shift at the oars while the other rests. The exhorter sits in the stern behind his drum, ready to speed or slacken the rhythm as needed. You also see a Dragon Priest assassin and the M'Riss dock.

Resting atop the pinnacle of the pole thrust into the ground, the severed head of Aveda gazes off into the distance with lifeless milky-white eyes. Just beneath the slowly oozing neck wound, the detailed image of a dragon curled about Elanthia has been masterfully cut into the inky-black obsidian. Thick droplets of black flecked blood snake down the scarred surface of the pole, weaving between the luminescent scrawling that trails down its length.
There appears to be something written on it.
