Hindrance 07/10/2011 12:58 PM CDT
Something seems strange with hindrance...I don't know how much of it is directly related to crafting, but I figure I'll lay it out here at any rate.

Using the new hindrance ranges since they're more precise.

This is the armor setup I'm using in Prime, and my point of comparison.

Head/Neck/Eyes: trivial (leather)
Chest/Abdomen/Back/Arms: noticeable (HP)
Legs: trivial (LP)
Hands: trivial (leather)
Shield: trivial
Mixing: plate/leather
Overall Hindrance: light

Now, I made the following setup.

Head: trivial (HP) [same range]
Neck: trivial (HP) [same]
Eyes: insignificant (LP) [-1]
Chest: minor (HP) [-4]
Abdomen: light (HP) [-5]
Back: light (HP) [-5]
Arms: minor (LP) [-4]
Legs: trivial (LP) [same]
Hands: trivial (LP) [same]
Shield: trivial [same]
Mixing: none
Overall Hindrance: fair [+2...What the?]

So to summarize, I ditched the leather for same-hindrance plate, thereby eliminating the mixing penalty but perhaps getting a bit more hindrance to those places because the hindrance on plate can't be worked down as far...I'd expect that these effects would approximately offset. I also greatly reduced the hindrance on my torso and arms, but ended up with a good deal more overall hindrance. That...can't possibly be right.

For the sake of completeness, my character is armor tertiary and has: 575 Leather, 548 HP, 530 LP, and 692 Evasion (in case that hindrance model is live in Test). Any idea what might be up?

Thanks,
