Zoluren hunting ladder still has odd skill gaps 06/18/2018 06:46 PM CDT
I know this isn't a huge priority, but there are still some odd skill gaps in Zoluren's hunting ladder for under 180 ranks.

The biggest one is the Stealth gap from copperhead vipers/rock trolls/blood wolves to endrus serpents. Vipers and blood wolves have the usual animal perception where you can reasonably expect to hide on them with four at melee with you if you're in the skill range. Rock trolls, for whatever reason, have terrible perception compared to most humanoids at level and hiding on them at level with four at melee is quite possible. But endrus serpents are constructs and as such you need Stealth closer to their defensive cap range to hide at melee with four.

They're also on the Leth side of the river meaning that if you want to keep training Stealth you basically need to take the ferry back and forth and then usually need to keep training in Endrus serpents after they stop teaching your combat skills because the next rung is graves worms (in a poorly accessible area at-level), young ogres (you need about 115 Stealth to hide on them successfully, i.e. near the top of their teaching range), and moss meys (out for anyone not playing a Cleric/already has a Cleric that can take the time to bless a bunch of weapons). Silver-back bears should be in this rung but their extremely heavy hits means hunting them without your armor skill nearly capped out relative to their teaching range is a bad idea.

The whole 60-120 skill range offers a lot of poor choices, but the lesser sluagh represents one that is actually pretty good overall and covers a large portion of the skill range. The river caiman offers another good choice. Both could fit in the ecology of the Leth Deriel environs without a big struggle. It would vastly improve the experience for new players as well with Leth representing an excellent "first step away" from Crossing.
