Thanks for the log, and nice release.

I'm a little confused though. Maybe I missed something. From what I get from this log Keresyk seems to be quite at home there and taking over for his grandfather (for some time now), but he's currently the Mayor of Leth Deriel. Did he give up his position? Is there a new Mayor?

You'll have to ask him that or one of the Council members that wander about M'Riss/Mer'Kresh periodically.

reason being, if my thief is out there pulling components from trek or hunter boxes, It is a major pain in the tail to go off-island to sell 'em. So if not a regular shop, at least an NPC like Raif on ratha.

There is mining over on M'riss behind the boulder near the favor altar.

So anymore suggestions for everyday items people usually have to travel to the mainland for that would come in handy in a hardware store?

Where I live we have an oldtime hardware store that carries everything from wallets to nails to jelly jars to lumber to aprons - the items could be almost anything.

Monogrammed duffle bags/containers (where you rub the container and your initials show up), jugglies (upper weights), oddball weapons, weapon strap, hair doodads.

Just my two coppers.

All great suggestions! I didn't realize hair ornaments were so popular.

If you're looking for jugglies, Trintah's the herbalist shop sells them in the citizen's room.

How about 1 or 2 juggles at over 65 stones? Old characters live on M'Riss. How about mining tools? Crafting tools? Ship repair stuff (RP). Stiles? Barrels.

People still use jugglies? Does foraging and hunt stop teaching at some rank? My perception is only 200 or so, but it's tert and all from those two.

Last time I checked 65 stones was the weight limit they'd let us put in shops, I'll ask just in case.

Some examples of mining and crafting tools please?

Do we even have any workable ship repair stuff?

Hmmmm barrels of booze for those long ship rides!

I would assume mining and forging tools could be copied from what the forging society sells. Hammer, tongs, bellows, shovel, oil, pickaxe. Not sure about other crafting methods.

Well any crafting tools really.. shovles, pickaxes, rulers, needles.. but with look/desc for Mer'kresh. Here is one we got from a Stoneclan mining event:

You tap a pickaxe bearing the Stone Clan insignia inside your feyweave pouch.
>
A field-ready combat axe and a sturdy military fork have been bound in steel around a black ironwood haft to form this pickaxe. The axe head has been reshaped for its new purpose of cleaving rocks in twain, with the edge blunted and the tip shaped into a diamond point. On the flip side a solid steel military fork has been bent into its new place, extending far out from the haft.

And ship repair tools I said (RP). Something to fiddle with.

There is at least the bodkin/thread to repair sails with as far as functional things. Are there any fishing supplies on 'Kresh? I don't remember any last time I was out there. That might be something to think about as well. Poles, bait, hooks, line, creel, etc. Maybe this would be a sweet place to put in an official "tackle box" as well. I'll detail my idea for a tackle box over in the "Items - What would you like to see?" folder.

The forging society is open to the public. No need to duplicate what it sells.

Yeah, I wouldn't duplicate either. However, if the forging society is going to be the only crafting hall there perhaps this store could sell some of the tools for other crafters? needles, straight pins, etc.

Isn't all booze good booze? Think people would enjoy a liqour store with bottled booze? Off the top of my head, the only place I can recall that sells bottled booze is in Throne City and its bottled wine.

Rissan themed tools - got it!

There's actually a spot for a toy store that needs to be built. I'll add it to my list!

Eventually all the societies will be in the crafting building but some people still enjoy dressed up items.

Bottled booze would be fine. Brandy, rum, tequila, wine, mead, ogogoro, palm wine, arrack, arak, and mezcal should probably all be considered. Some are already established Rissan favorites, and the others make sense given Rissan ecology.

>> There were plans at one time to make the carillon climbable. That would have a lot of potential to fill climbing ranges by having increasingly difficult climbs as you go higher. Would be great to see it implemented.

I remember GM Meriel talking about putting some climbing in the Carillion before she left. When I took over there wasn't anything that had been started so I'm not sure where she had intended to put it since it's mostly gardens.

I think the idea was to make the outside of the carillon climbable. My understanding is that it's a large tower so basically the outer wall would be climbable to the top. Maybe the lower areas have more handholds than the upper areas so the difficulty could increase as you gain altitude?

>>What skill ranges in climbing would help?

I know there's a gap between when the caracal trees stop teaching and when the Fever Point pier starts teaching so that would be a good gap to fill. Not sure how high the pier teaches since I'm sitting around 425 and still learning great just on the piling but I'm guessing others are requesting higher level climbing in the actual city of Mer'kresh so they don't have to take the galley for good climbing practice.

All ranges? There's really no wrong answer here.

Like Ascot said the Carillion is also a bell tower, so...there is a tower that can be climbed. The inside has stairs. If the outside were, say, trellised at the bottom, followed by rough stone, then mortared coral after that, and finally polished coral you could justify having the climb teach up to (and past) 500 ranks.

Personally I want something that teaches well at 400-500, but really all ranges past ~150 could be better represented. Making the outside of the Carillion a tiered climb sounds like a great idea.

Excuse the double post but there is good climbing over on M'riss at the pier. How about upping the swimming against the curret in the celpeze hunting area? Once the skill combine comes in, they will both teach outdoorsmanship so either would do.

Hey and how about adding practice swimming?

I took a look at the carillion from behind the scenes and have a pretty good idea why it wasn't done. Sometimes what looks easy ingame becomes a hot mess behind the scenes! I'll keep an eye out for potential climbing.

I'm concerned that upping the celp swimming area high enough to make it teach might make it unhuntable.

Well, the primary problem is that we all have chosen deities and having to sail or otherwise travel back to Zoluren to get favors is a bit of a pain.

Carrying orbs back with us is fine, but then you have to wait until you get back to turn them into favors.

Is this the case that no neutral aspect can have an altar aside from the main 3 favor areas? if I recall correctly, but maybe its an aspect?, but I always thought that the altar in the clerics guild on Aesry is dedicated to meraud, at least i've used it as such for my char that worships him, and being that the proper offering is bloodwolf pelts. I had thought the islands were a special case. At least I've been able to get damaris /kertigen orbs at the proper locations on ratha as well.

Couldn't you just import yourself a cleric with the truff commune? Instant portable favor orbs. Though I can't remember off my head if you can offer them on just any altar.

You can't because all the altars on the Islands are keyed to specific Immortals, and also the commune burns an ungodly amount of devotion (no pun intended) so both receiving and redeeming the orb through a Cleric requires a really awesome Cleric.

A neutral altar would solve the latter half of the problem and long-term complaining has a pretty good shot of solving the former (sorry Alvy).
