Is this supposed to be happening? It is not really a maze here is it?

You take note of all the tracks in the area, so that you can hunt anything nearby down.

To the west:
--) a pale grey death spirit

To the southwest, northwest:
--) a pale grey death spirit

You were unable to locate any followable tracks.

If it's not a premie area, it's using similar settings. Nolocate outright prevents HUNTing (the nolocate tag means hunt can't find the critters), and noteleport prevents the HUNT # part.

A lot of places related to Cleric quests you can't use Hunt in, kind of disapointing really.

It has custom move mechanics that make it kind of maze-like. You can randomly move to the wrong room, kind of like back leucros minus the stamina hit.

Pretty much what JMF said. When I inquired about something similar in another area I was hunting in, too, it seems that areas that you can't teleport into are largely unhuntable. And yes, the movement mechanics in that especial hunting area wouldn't play nice with Hunt, between the odd chance of going the wrong direction and the random chance of a mist whisking you out.
