SimuCon 2016 Location Poll 03/07/2016 02:07 PM CST

Hi all!

For this year's SimuCon, we were wondering how receptive everyone would be to changing locations. We've traditionally held SimuCon in St Louis, but in the past we had other unofficial conventions in other cities throughout the year, including VegasCon - which was held regularly up until a few years ago.

Hence, to shake things up a bit, we were looking into changing this year's location to Las Vegas. The format would be same as before – you could donate through Indiegogo for a badge and other goodies – or you could simply show up as you please! We'll aim for the same room fees for single King or two Doubles as we had last year at the Chalet – around $100/night on the weekends.

The time frame would be the same – some weekend in August – which is also what we need to pin down. I’ve created a survey to gauge everyone's interest – if everyone wants to stay in St Louis, that's fine too! :) At the very least, we can pin down a weekend to go on.

If you could take the time to fill out this short survey, this will help us out so much. I'll get back to everyone in a couple weeks with the results and the plan going forward!

Thanks to GM Naohhi for copying this over here. I know you guys still hold VegasCon, but us poor 'Stoners haven't had a big Vegas convention in quite some time, and there was some push to change the location away from St Louis for at least one year (and I see you guys had that discussion here as well). We're considering Vegas, but SimuCon is for everyone, so if you guys would like to NOT have it there, please let us know on the survey. :)

I think I it would be nice to alternate between the West, Midwest, and East thus getting everyone in a good range. I would be most likely to attend myself if it were in Omaha or Lincoln, Nebraska. Years ago, Los Angeles area would have been better for me. I've never been able to attend one because my very low income makes not financial viable for me to travel so far and rent a room, but I hope someday to be able too.

How about a con that we rent a plane and party on it... fly a circle around the states or even into any other countries that are highly populated with players? I know we got some overly rich people who play this game that could finance it :))
