Not to take away from the humor of your delivery, but I actually made the same joke a couple of months ago--although I think I concluded that there were three people in the state. I even ducked, too.

Perhaps you did, it is a standard joke, one that I use every time I see a licence plate from Delaware.

However, if you notice I did not post on this particular board for well since it started until just recently. Therefore, I did not read your post nor does it truly matter. I'm sure everyone forgot about your joke until you just reminded us.
