The Tavern Troupe Performing Order 11/14/2006 08:11 PM CST
The Tavern Troupe Performing Order is officially sanctioned by the Province of Zoluren and therefore the Tavern Troupe is recognized by the Administrator of Orders. Our Founder is Bubbinster Bladebender.

The purpose of the Tavern Troupe Performing Order is to provide Elanthia with entertainment that will in turn, increase the morale of the citizens of the land. Morale, especially in times of war or times of rebuilding, is very important as it impacts the citizens' effectiveness in fighting, as well as help to impact the economy -- happy people fight better and work harder.

The Tavern Troupe provides entertainment for formal and informal gatherings, teaches skills such as song and play writing, and sponsors their own gatherings to entertain and reward the citizens.

To oversee the Order's functioning, the Tavern Troupe has established a Speaker, a Vice-Speaker, a Treasurer and a standing council of 10. These positions were selected by the founding members and are maintained through voting processes of the continual members. The Order must also maintain a standing membership of at least twenty-five members.

Currently, I am the Speaker, our Vice-Speaker is Court Bard Daerlynn Soulmyste, of the Therengian Court, and our Treasurer position is currently vacant. Our Council of 10 is lead by Lead Councilor, Markhor Sculpin, and the following Councilors: Nivenya, Ariahne, Chabelle, Gylee, Fayeza, Cardinalred, Southridge, Aeviona, and we have one vacancy that we hope to remedy at our next Council meeting on December 10.

Our Council meets the second Sunday of the month and we currently have a once a month General Meeting which we call "Happiest Hours" which we hold on the second Friday of the Month. Our next Happiest Hours will be December 8th and we will perform, "The Day the Ferries Raced." This play is a classic and was written by Bubbinster.

How to be a Trouper in 6 easy steps!

Find a Troupe sponsor - This generally consists of the new member candidate finding a member, and blabbin< about the Troupe with him/her, then deciding the blabbin< wasn<t too bad, and moving on to the next step.
Once sponsored, the Speaker interviews new member candidates. Should they survive this hideous torture, they move on to the next step.
After being interviewed, new member candidates will be required to produce an introduction commentary about themselves either by scribe, recitation or solo performance. There are no requirements for length or content of this introduction commentary, but it should be appealing to council members, as they are the ones who review it whilst voting on the new member. The potential new member submits this introduction commentary to the Speaker, who relays it to the council for voting.
Council votes yea or nay on potential new member. Majority 'yea' means, "Welcome to the Troupe." Majority 'nay' means, "Sorry, try again later if you desire."
Lead Council Member announces the new members to the rest of the Troupe, congratulating them, and makes their introductory commentary public knowledge. The Secretary files a copy of the new member's introductory commentary in the Troupe files (website).
New members are welcomed at the next Troupe general meeting in a ceremony presided over by the Speaker.
Currently, Order perks are a unique, specially-created Membership Badge, and event assistance, with several other perks under consideration, such as order shops, an order house, and possibly unique titles.

Our own personal perk is that we are currently saving for a brig of our own to host a variety of parties, activities, and events, as well as travel throughout Elanthia to perform. We are over 2/3s the way to purchase. One example of a event we had on a borrowed boat was our "Bawdy Boat Cruise."

Hope you join us for Order Recruitment Night on Wednesday, November 15, in Leth Deriel at Tamsine's Rest at 9:30 p.m. This will be a co-hosted event with the Black Pearl Legion who will also be speaking on how to join one of the Zoluren Cavalry Units.
