As far as I know, all of the official orders are currently active and recruiting. The individual Elanthipedia articles should still be good sources of information. (I regularly update the flyers and rosters based on the in-game documents.)

I would be willing to put together a "cheat sheet," but I would like each of the orders to submit their own short blurb about what they stand for, what they do, where to look for more detailed information, and how to go about joining. (The in-game flyers have a short statement, as well as official charters, but I don't know how easy those are to update.)
