AFAIK it's only in Crossing, testing for new crafts and the like are usually are that way. In the test instance you can use TEST JUMP to teleport to Crossing. (It's one way, there's no way to return.)

There's also crystal shards you can use to teleport yourself away from the crossing if you need to be somewhere else. The shards are available at any of the destination locations I believe, but for sure at the crossing one if not. Most of the special verbs you can use on the test server are listed in the link as well.

Also, I don't think anything is currently set up there, but the north east gate of crossing is where test items are often set up if they don't otherwise have a home that makes sense. E.g. when elemental weapons were being tested you could pick them up from there.
