Metal reclamation of non-forged goods? 02/20/2013 12:55 PM CST

Just wondering.. I find these semi-precious metal armbands and rings and things in combat on occasion (platinum, gold, electrum, palladium, etc.) -- just wondering if there are plans down the road to be able to reclaim them the same way we're able to reclaim metal from a botched blade or what-have-you?

I've been holding several electrum and palladium armbands on my person for quite some time now, hoping they might come in handy some day.

In case it helps, this is what you get when you TRY to take the metal from it..

You should probably remove the non-metal items before doing that.

When Kodius started the crafting system he said this is something they would try to get into place, but I wouldn't expect it for a long time.

I highly doubt existing items will be converted even if future spawns of items would be. The items are so minor, I doubt putting in an updating system would happen. You probably can sell/trash them.

If you can't get material info from an APPRAISE CAREFUL, you can't melt it.

Or keep them as alteration fodder. Some materials are rare enough that they would likely be required by an alterer (e.g., anlora-avtoma).

I used to like to use these random jewelry bits for astral guides, myself.
