wood finishing kit? Turntable? 10/08/2016 10:28 PM CDT

What is a wood finishing kit, and where do I buy or use one? Same with a turntable? I'm trying to do the bead from chapter 8 of the shaping book and it says I need these things but I can't find them in the Crossing Eng. Society and the wiki doesn't give any info on them.

You don't need a wood finishing kit or turntable. Afaik those things don't exist. To shape beads you need lumber, a drawknife, wood shaper, rasp (and a design codex if you're making detailed beads).

You must be right. I was able to make the bead without any of those things. I wonder why the shaping book says they're needed/useful when making the bead. Oh well. Thanks!

Most likely a remnant of preliminary designs. For a while you could buy sandpaper in the engineering society for use in stone carving, despite none of the carving products using it.
