Humming and clerics 06/02/2008 12:52 AM CDT
This seems so silly, but I have it in my head that humming a hymn or a psalm was supposed to give a cleric devotion. It sounds like an old wives tale or something, heh. Is this just a silly, unsubstantiated rumor or something with substance to it? Anyone know where I might have heard it? I'm curious where I got the notion. ;)

Not sure it works with HUM, but it should work for other instruments.

It can't be off-key or halting though.

Typing PLAY HELP will get you this:

--- CLERIC/PALADIN OPTIONS ---
PLAY (Hymn/Psalm) {mood} {ON} {instrument} FOR (Immortal)
Can be used to gain favor with the Immortals.
Of course, you'll want to play well, and in appropriate areas.

This isn't in the HUM verb. =/ Why... we don't really know.

Ah, great, thanks! I suppose that's all the more reason to pick up an instrument now. Maybe I thought it was linked to hum because of the vocals-related cleric titles.
