I guess what I'm asking is this: Can we come up with ideas because musical instruments and singing?

How about charismatic speaking? That alone could calm a crowd..or incite them to riot. The performance alone is suggestive.

What about other tools that could be used in a performance. For example veils or sleight of hands tricks (not slip) could be used to give moves like slip, stealing, a small bonus. Let the belly dancers have some love!

A Show of Force (read: intimidation) could slightly reduce your willpower...or defenses. Tactics allows us to do something like this, but I'm talking about well-harnessed charismatic power used with Performance!

I just feel the skill is under-appreciated except in the realm of music and song. In addition, it's biggest benefits are for bards.
