So with any axe working for luberjacking, I have to ask whether or not the axe stats affect anything. And whether or not we'll see tool axes with varying stats.

From talking with Kodius, slice affects RTs in that the better the slice, the better % chance that RT is reduced. Not exactly sure what that means though.

So, in crafting, the RTs aren't static. They start with a base variable RT, and then there's a chance of a variable reduction.

Random made up numbers. A swing takes 7 to 9 seconds, with a base 10% chance of -2 to -4 second reduction.

Better tools don't increase the RT reduction, just the chance it'll happen.

The axe's slice affects its potency (Up to a cap of 45 I think?). I basically turn the axe into a fake tool for the purposes of lumberjacking. There will be actual saws/axes that can be crafted and which will provide a higher max potency (Cap of 99 to start).

Potency is a % chance to reduce the random RT by a random amount. So even with the worst axe imaginable you'll still occasionally see a 4 second RT. But with a 99 potency axe you'd see it much of the time.
