Housing Crisis? Housing Cries Heard! 08/05/2015 07:42 PM CDT
You spoke up, and we listened! You wanted to help make it happen, and many of you did! Now we have the first batch of neighborhoods ready for moving in! As of about thirty minutes ago, three new neighborhoods have opened up around Crossing. Here's the skinny on where to find them and what types of housing are available!

The Crossing, Immortals' Walk
Located through a hedged archway off Immortals' Approach, this Upper Class Urban neighborhood offers a swing, a pond you can get water from, a nice place to hang out, and roughly 10 freestanding homes.
(Platinum and Fallen will have 1 home available.)

North Turnpike, Meadow Trail
A new extension of the existing Meadow Trail located out the North Arch of The Crossing. This Middle Class Rural area has seating, a blueberry bush that won't quit, and roughly 12 freestanding homes.
(Platinum and Fallen will have 2 homes available.)

Middens, Backend Holler
While some may laugh at what the name of this slum implies, others simply, and depressingly, call it home. This miserable ghetto is located in the Middens out the Eastern Gate of Crossing, just off the Gravel Way. 10 freestanding small homes of the Lower Class Urban variety are available here for prospective Slum Lords.
(Platinum and Fallen will have 2 homes available.)

The number of homes in each neighborhood may be increased later.

Enjoy!

I've been having amazing luck getting just the housing spots I want for multiple characters in the last couple months. Today included thanks to this! Yay!

Hi, I thought this would be a good place to ask my question, but I am wanting to learn about custom housing and how to go about doing such? I have been a prem member for 4 months now and I read the premium help but it doesn't really explain how to go about making your own place instead of just claiming one, it's impossible for me to find a place to even claim. I figured doing a custom one would be better. Do I need 600 ltb's to be able to do that? I ask because it said either that or 3 months being prem. I would appreciate any information anyone can give me.

Custom housing properties are sold once in a blue moon in the simucoin store for, IIRC, about a thousand dollars. They are not a premium perk.

A regular house can be customized using various set pieces available in game. You don't need any LTBs for it. The only requirement is that you have at least 3 months of Premium service on the account, which you meet.

What you need to do to claim a home and start customizing it is go to a housing clerk and buy a license. These cost 3 plat in local currency (not 100% on currency - it might be kronars regardless of your provice like with vaults.) In Crossing the housing clerk is located on Ustial road one block west of the entrance to Raven's Court. If you're still not sure where that is then it is ne, nw, n, w of the ferry to Leth. Once inside you want to go through the 'housing doorway' to find the clerk.

Once that license is purchased, you just need to find an available space to claim. This is a bit of a challenge in the Crossing or Riverhaven since most of the homes are already claimed, but other locations will be easier to find a home. Ranik's maps (https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/Ranik_Maps) show home areas in light blue and has most of them, although a few of the newer areas are still missing. Just use HOME CLAIM in each area to see what's available. Also, if you can track down Linnett then she usually has some knowledge of homes that might be available and I think she sometimes provides help tracking down the right home for you.

Once you CLAIM a home then you can customize it by buying stuff from housing shops, a shopping catalogue of which can be found using HOME CATALOG in game.

For more information you can read this article as well: https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/Homes

As for a completely made from scratch personal area that is fully custom made... Like Thayet said, one or two are rarely available for sale from the SimuCoin shop for $1000. $800 if you buy the simucoins in bulk. They sell out in minutes. Be warned. I suspect this isn't actually what you were asking about though.

Oh, and while the PREMIUM verb is less than helpful for getting your home set up, the HOME verb is much more helpful. Particularly HOME HELP.

Ok thanks so much, a complete custom was what I was talking about, but definitely can't afford that much for one, I was trying to find something in the middle class but unfortunitly for me I can't read those maps for being visually impaired. So if anything if anyone is selling a place in crossing or haven in the future can they please send me a thought to my aeta char? I would surely appreciate it

Thanks for all the help, I still am a bit confused because when I did look at prem benefits they said could purchase a fully custom home after 90 days of continued membership or 600 points. Just wish it was more clear on what it meant by custom or semi custom. I did read all home help verbs and still didn't explain everything so that was why I asked here, just to explain what I talking about

Custom refers to being able to buy furniture and stuff to customize how the inside looks. But it follows a set template and stuff rather than being something you can write from scratch. For example:

Blueberry and ivy stenciled walls and a scuffed pine floor enclose this small room. In one corner lies a comfortable polished chintz sofa, and near the sofa sits a blue baize card table with a smoky quartz vase and some jade and ebonwood dice on it. A square cast iron stove burns along the far wall with a yellow-tinted glass bottle hanging above it. The room holds a very strong scent of lavender.

So all those objects in that description are things bought at various furniture stores around (HOME CATALOG has a mostly complete list). You can rearrange how items in the LOOK show up, but it's still like a series of set templates basically. Does that make sense?
