Home in Crofton Close 07/31/2008 05:57 PM CDT
I've just purchased an "oak-trimmed house" in Crofton Close, Crossing (housing area NW of TGNW), and I'm looking to modify the exterior a little bit.

I've tried Dove's Delightful Dwellings in Leth Deriel, Exterior Motives in Crossing, the exterior section of the Barn at the Caravansary, City Statements in Haven... I even tried Elite Architecture. None of these stores will modify my home - they all say that their styles are not appropriate for my neighborhood.

Any one know which store I need to visit, or maybe there is just a time delay in updating the exteriors (I moved from a door-type home only a few hours earlier)?

Thanks, any information is appreciated.

I know you should be careful changing your style. I was trying to change mine to something, and moved it away from a bungalow, and now I can't get it back to a bungalow.

Word to the wise, don't change it unless #1. You are sure you want it, or #2. You are sure you can change it back.

It's tricky.

You can STUDY (HOME) to see what type of area you're in.

You'll see something like this:

>study villa
You study a spacious white sandstone villa carefully. It seems to be a freestanding home, with a window, located in an upperclass rural area.
Any race or guild could live here.
This particular home is owned by someone already.

The trick now, is to find what shops sell what.

A lot of the information is old, but I use:

Arcane Wolf also has a section, a bit dated at:
http://arcanewolf.com/main/

and Elanthipedia has a section on home shops that might help you as well.

If you see something like that, you need to ASSIST and have a GM fix your home before you can buy things for it. If you haven't yet stepped foot inside said home, you need to do that as well or else the system won't recognize you as the owner (or was it that it didn't change the abandoned look...?)
