If you STUDY an item on a housing furniture item, it treats it like furniture.

Not to potentially make things more confusing, but I don't think this is explicitly a housing furniture thing, but an "anything that functions as a container" thing.

If you STUDY a weapon that lacks in a functional STUDY in a container that has a functional STUDY, it does the same type of thing. It only doesn't do it when the item you study has an actual STUDY message attached to it.

Granted, I'm assuming that your claymore lacks its own STUDY.

Hmph.

This should be fixed with homes at least. It's something that has to be handled on a system-by-system or item-by-item basis, no easy global fix I'm afraid.
