The relationship between The Message Boards and In-Game conflict. 06/30/2002 05:48 PM CDT
Dear Posting folks,

Please find below a clarification of the relationship between the message boards and the Game, when it comes to in game conflicts, per GM Auriane, SGM for Customer Experience.

"The message boards are considered an OOC forum with the exceptions of folders that are specifically indicated for an IC purpose.

This issue came up in a different form during the Sorrow War, where GMNPCs were accused of acting/reacting to board discussions between involved players. It was stated back then that the message boards are considered a forum outside of the environment, and in an IC sense players should not have "real" access to that information.

The same holds true for players who use message board conflicts as reasons of IC altercations. The boards are the boards and in-game is in-game, period. Someone who pursues a dispute in-game based on a boards issue is operating outside of consent and is in violation of Policy. "

I hope this helps clear up a misconception that has existed.

If you require further clarification on this, please dont hesitate to write to me at DR-Cecco@play.net
