Re: So what is the policy for things lost due to the game crashing? 12/14/2006 09:58 AM CST
Forged items and all of their details are logged. The problem is that they're logged by creator and creation time, not the person using it.
Much more likely to receive the items used to forge an item, than to get it replaced and I believe rare metal items are in the buggy pile, and will not be replaced.
Similar to any old backpacks that are extra large, armor that is unusually light due to original armor forging system etc...

Some day someone in DR staff will go over to GS and look over the code for "register" and move it over here so items can be registered and easily replaced after a crash.

Example:

s>register earring
Your item, "a multi-hued parrot feather earring", has been registered. Please remember that this is not proof of ownership.
s>register earring
But you just registered that!
s>inspect ear
You carefully inspect your parrot feather earring.

You determine that you could wear the earring, hanging it from your ear.

You remember that you registered this item about a minute ago.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
