That's nice. Some suggestions to avoid crossings: Swap Bond Weapon and Footman's Strike, so the blue line from BW doesn't cross the black from FST. Swap Tipping the Scales and Truffenyi's Rally, so the blue line doesn't cross the one coming out of TR. Make the line from Rutilor's Edge to Bond Weapon longer, so that the blue line can go behind Banner of Truce.

You switched FST and BW, but you didn't swap the spells that require them.

Also, any thoughts on putting what skills they train on there somewhere? I always forget which paladin spells are augmentation and which are utility. Maybe in the spot where the abbreviation is; something like: http://elanthipedia.org/w/index.php/Warrior_mage#3.0_Spell_Tree :3

Been trying to make a way that doesn't clutter them too much. So far the demo ones I did have had pretty mixed reactions. The ones for the magic primes get pretty crazy as is. You'll be able to click the boxes and go to the spells soon (as soon as I finish working on fixing the warrior mage and ranger trees I have, or when someone else gets to it.) That should be a quick way to bring that up in the mean time.

More text on the trees makes it not look as clean and really clutters them so I'm trying to make some more little icons for that. Most people like the new tier/difficulty icons I made, or at least I haven't had anyone dislike them once they understand what they mean.

Doh. I also left out the lines for FST needing Shatter and HOJ. Thanks, I'll see what I can do.

Not to be insane and reply to myself for a third time, but if anyone wants to see the mockup of the symbols I have for the spells it'd be something like this: http://i.imgur.com/KZa5q.png

I'd need to increase the size of all the boxes I think to add them in there. I was told it "looks stupid" this way currently. Maybe it's because of the question mark symbol being for utility and Empaths having so many utility spells (or because I suck at art)? I don't know. I could use a bigger pool of folks for feedback. Ha.

TBH, there comes a point where you have too much info in a graph, and some of it just has to be not be displayed on the top level, and you need to drill down to get that info.

I think the spell type symbols should be simplified and in a consistent location relative to the boxes, like in the upper right-hand corner of the box. Maybe like a sphere and then a small symbol inside for each. I'd attempt an example except for I'm at work right now :P

I like the Augmentation/Debilitation symbols, they're pretty :3

Agreed. The information I want out of the chart is the prereqs and maybe the difficulty, which you already have.

Yea, the plan was if I were going to do those, to redo all the trees with larger boxes so the spell type symbols would fit at the end. Some spells use 2 skills, which is why I did the symbols small and pretty bland. The couple people I showed them to thought didn't really think they were needed, but the trees for the community to use, so if that's what people want I can do that. I'll try to do a better mockup tonight.

Redoing stuff isn't that hard for me once I have the layout. I actually made most of these at work, in MS Paint. Paint is for cool kids.

I've already got the WM tree finished. I did my lines a bit differently: I would make a line coming out of SR and DIG go directly to RUE without joining the other lines. From RW to MO, it kind of looks like they're all part of the same tree. If the dotted line didn't overlap it would make the branches more explicit. And if you make the lines more explicit, then I would say that you wouldn't need to write out the reqs for spells that have OR requirements anymore.

The icons are interesting, but it looks a bit busy with all of them on there. Also, there's a chance that the icon colors might clash with the background in the boxes. Like with Lethargy: red and orange symbol on orange background.

Does the Spellbook name really matter (other than for Moon Mages)?

What about using the color of the box to denote spell type rather than spell book? Half the boxes be half and half for multi-type spells.

Necros generally care for most DO purposes, too.
