When I cast bless on myself I get this message

You gesture.
Nothing seems to happen.

After learning the Ring of Blessings scroll I can finally cast bless on myself with the following messaging.

You gesture.
You contribute your harnessed streams to increase the pattern's potential.
Your cambrinth armband emits a loud snap as it discharges all its power to aid your spell.
A ring of pure golden light emanates from your hands, sweeping outward to wash over the area.

A pure golden glow enwreathes your body.


So something weird is going on that I would need RoB to cast bless on myself. I can bless weapons just fine, but when I try to cast the spell on myself without the RoB spell it just won't work.
