Half the forum always disappearing? 05/12/2016 07:14 AM CDT

This is what it looks like now. All well and good. I can access everything I usually can. ( i think )

However, sometimes I am unable to access my usual spots, like half the forum is on a crashed server or something.
Of note> The suggestions page. I frequent that. I enjoy looking at 'what if' situations... and discussing what impact they might have.
This page was not accessible to me from like May 5th till about May 10th-11th.

These problems also regularly occur even more often on moble. It actually is right now. I can't access the majority of the forum on my phone.

To be clear: For almost a week I was unable to access most of the forum on PC or my cell. Now I can access the missing part on PC. Still not on my phone.

I have used the tinyforums and the like too. Did not help me locate these forums.

I made a post a while ago about how I kept getting lost in your forums.... so I thought it was just confusing and I was getting lost. But now that I visit it so often I'm just seeing chunks of sections missing at a time, making locating a post difficult.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it intended?

Anyone else having these problems?

update:

I think it has something to do with that "unread only" checkbox only working half the time. I just visited the forums again on my phone to see if that was still there. that checkbox is gone. The forum looks fine.

This is my PC.

I was able to get that checkbox to appear on PC this time.. After a few attempts.

Not sure why this is inconsistent.

In closing> The checkbox is inconsistent and only loads half the time, making the forum seem buggy.

Additionally, I should have figured this out beforehand.. instead of DIRECTLY after my post. Apologies for the multiple posts.

And now that I look like an idiot, I'm done. Have a nice day.

Hello there,

If I'm understanding what I'm seeing correctly, it's because in the first picture you aren't logged in. The forums will log you out every so often and you have to log back in for the settings to work.

There's 2 things you need to do:

1. As Kaarina said, make sure you're logged in. Mobile especially tends to log you out between sessions, but it can happen on PC too.

2. When logged in click on OPTIONS at the top right (on PC, I think on mobile it's at the end of the page, probably just easier to do on PC anyway). In there set your default filters to what you want. It sounds like you want them to be ALL and ALL. IMPORTANT: Scroll down to the bottom of the options page and click on SAVE or any changes you make won't take.

That should fix the issues you're describing.
