I know that the necro guild is supposed to be hidden and hush hush and all that, but is there any way a non necromancer could follow someone there or with enough skill search it out and go inside? In a sense it would be like spying on the enemy. But the person couldn't do anything there, or if there are donation shelves in there, they can't take anything from there either. And if discovered, the person infiltrating is subject to immediate death and experimentation (for the necros). Just a thought. It could be for people who are really curious about what the inside of a necromancer guild looks like, but who don't want to roll up a whole new character.

Personally I enjoy the fact that not everyone can get in. What's the "theme" of p4?

No...obviously a non necro can not get into the guildhall, even if you could find the way to get to the spot to get to where it is.

The theme, it's very macabre, very cool inside and out, can tell a lot of work was put into it. It's great. Team Necro did an awesome job.

Is this the only Lich Guild Leader, or is that pretty common?

I noticed the island and city connected to Jeihrem aren't tagged as spoilers on epedia. Does this mean that the existence of them should be common knowledge to characters familiar with the Qi archipelago?

>>Is this the only Lich Guild Leader, or is that pretty common?

He is the only Lich GL. This is not something that non-Necro characters would be likely to know, though.

That Jeihrem is both an active Lich and that he is attempting to sway others into following him is easily something almost any character could have heard of by now. I mean, he did just attack the Crossing and was pretty vocal about gaining both followers and souls for his masters, after all.

Should they be common knowledge to anyone familiar with Qi ICly? Not necessarily. There are tons of tiny islands out there, and it is extremely reasonable that most folks even very familiar with Qi don't know much of anything about most of them. With that said, I did add those entries on purpose, and they are not listed spoilers on purpose. I also openly posted them on the forums on purpose, which is not the case for things that are considered Necromancer secrets. It's equally likely that anyone familiar with Qi could have heard about Basalt Isle and Jeihrem's Barrow in as much as those entries contain. It's almost certain that until very recently, though, most folks who had heard that much thought it was just a myth.

Gentle general reminder to not spiral into personal attacks in this thread, and to keep to discussion of the topic itself :)

Sauron meets Demon Barmitzvah. It's amazing, and there's a ton of phenomenal imagery, symbolism, and ways to die.

Isn't the Qi Archipelago roughly 1/6th the size of Indonesia's territorial waters in square nautical miles? I would have expected the opposite. Since Reshalian economies are based almost solely on seafaring trade that goes back 2500+ years and military power is measured by naval strength anything large enough to affect sea routes would be mapped and anything large enough to be named and inhabited especially so. Treacherous waters like pirate and necromancer controlled islands would be doubly infamous.

Thanks Persida, I was curious if Jeihrem was actively suppressing knowledge about the Basalt Isle (IC) but it sounds like just the opposite.

This is fantasy islands, not real islands. You're correct about real sailing in a historical context. For fantasy islands, it's usually very much Here There Be Dragons.

Well now I'm just disappointed the Qi guild-based isn't Ricardo Montalban.

One of the logs already on the Necromancer boards had Jeihrem dropping hints that the area is magically concealed, like a lot of Necro areas.

Dang. No one posted a log of this.

Thanks Hastaluego. I guess I hadn't seen that log or maybe I just missed the hint.

The same (granted, Adan'f npc-given) reason that folks can't find the home of the Adan'f spirit dancers.
