I've been back for a little while now and was able to get my copy of Genie back up and running. I have lots of trouble with it now, but tonight it's finally not working at all. Assuming this isn't a DR crash, I'm getting this message now.

Unable to contact Genie Key server!
Please make sure that your internet connection is working properly and that you do not have a firewall blocking access.

I still have my Genie Key saved in my copy of Genie. Nothing has changed from yesterday till now.

Maybe it's time to finally bury Genie for good? I can't find any new information on it..updates etc.

Looking for guidance, been around for about 25 years and just wanting a good consistent way to keep going.

1. Go here: https://github.com/GenieClient/Genie4/releases/tag/4.0.2.4

2. Download the genie4.zip file at the bottom.

3. Unblock the zip (it'll save you hassles later) by right clicking it, choosing properties (or more actions > properties in Win 11) and then selecting unblock.

4. Extract it and use this as your launch path for genie.

Once you install it, run it, and then go to file > open user directory. Navigate to the parent folder (you can click "roaming" in file explorer) and copy the contents of "genie client 3" to "genie client 4". Your mileage may vary, but it worked for me to keep everything the way I liked it in genie 3.
