This is my last gasp. The reality is, they are incorporeal creatures. To hunt them whatsoever means that you'll need a Bless effect, which acts as a damage amplifier. They are open to the DFA effects of Harm Evil, Harm Horde, etc. I kill them within 10 seconds or so of spawn without operating at maximum potential. Their spawn rate is not sufficient for our capability as a guild to hunt them whatsoever.

Something has to change, be that they get bumped up in health by a magnitude of 3x or the spawn rate is increased to near or equal invasion levels, or all this beautiful work that went into creating them is going to go to waste, because nobody is going to hunt them. Right now I can roll into wyverns and have an easier time training. Same with apes. Armadillos. The zephyrs are wonderful, but if they don't swarm they aren't worth hunting from a training standpoint. Nobody ever wants to wait for another creature to spawn.

Thank you Grejuva for all of the work you put into these. I do appreciate it.

What happens if you use really bad weapons?

The catch becomes, if you have to gimmick yourself to use a hunting area, why would you? Speaking personally, there are a handful of really cool areas I would have loved to use over the years but it just wasn't worth it. Either un-reliable spawn, over the top special attacks (Assassins as a survival tert, hi), or entrance/exit frustrations (blade spiders, Muspar'i,), just make some areas too much trouble for the gain. It's a pity, there's some VERY cool critters out there that are tragically underused for these reasons.

I've come to the conclusion that the spawn rate isn't the problem, so much as the speed at which they move to/seek players in their zone. They are terribly slow about it, which leads to people standing around waiting for spawns.

In comparison to the other options in their hunting range like wyverns which are hyperactive and you cannot run out of even if you are AoE spamming the room, they are decidedly lackluster.
