What to hunt! 06/14/2014 02:55 PM CDT
I recently dusted off my Barbarian and haven't played him(or DR, for that matter) with any seriousness for a very long time, and I have no idea what to hunt. I'd prefer a skinnable creature, but it's not the end of the world.

Strength : 40 Reflex : 25
Agility : 25 Charisma : 20
Discipline : 20 Wisdom : 20
Intelligence : 20 Stamina : 30

Parry Ability: 163
Large Edged: 170
Twohanded Edged: 169
Expertise: 165
Melee Mastery: 184

Parry Ability: 163
Shield Usage: 157
Chain Armor: 165
Defending: 160
Evasion: 158

Skinning: 163

Also been back training some weapons, so anything that I could also backtrain a little bit on(or has a mob nearby that I could learn from) would be the bees knees.

Bow: 125
Crossbow: 87
Light Thrown: 123
Heavy Thrown: 97
Missile Mastery: 141
Twohanded Blunt: 104
Brawling: 108

I'd recommend the Brocket Deer in Theren. The young ones are around 100-130 with the elders ranging into the 200's, so you'd have some room to climb up the path in difficulty and feel out how they work for you.

I like to imagine that the popping sound of PD is kind of like the fire swamp.

Black leucros might also work.

If you want to settle in one area for a while you would have plenty of options for hunting at your level in the easy travel areas around Riverhaven both for boxes and skinning. There are critters that will train you to medium high levels without any gaps. Train athletics so you can get to Rossman's Landing in the 200 range. Orc's, warcats and Gryphons are good from about 200 to at least 500.

Mastery skills for melee and missle help in backtraining. I found by training a lot of weapons the mastery skills soon outpaced my weapon skills and I can now train any weapon reasonably well in the area I am hunting with my main weapons.

The wiki's search tables can be a bit tricky at times to use, and the information there can be outdated if nobody has taken the time to update the critters, but it is a good guide line.

Ilithi/Forfedhdar also offers full hunting options (and far better undead/cursed) for pretty much, life.

If you act like prey, do not blame me for acting like the predator I am.
