Bloodvines in P5 Bugged? 02/24/2013 12:13 AM CST
I decided to send my ranger down to bloodvines today in p5 to check them out as elanthipedia states they are within my skill range 100-201. I was able to train everything BUT weapons. evasion defense shield parry stealth perception armors appraisal, everything moves except weapons, I even tried my backtrain weapons and nothing will come out of clear 0/34. May want to check into this and see if you can find out why weapons dont move

Yeah pretty sure something is wrong with them after 3.0 conversion. I also went there and was hoping it would be a viable hunting option with 150-200 defenses, and weapons 100-140 range. Couldn't move any of the weapons, even the ones slightly sub 100.

They may be one of the many critters who had defenses set hundreds of ranks less than offenses. Just like deer, etc.

I mentioned this before but I never bugged it. Targeted at 280 something moved the same as staves at 40 something. Which was not at all. I'd pulse out before 2/34.

I can't think of a critter in game that has a spread that wide for 'almost' capped. There's something wrong.

Could the staves skill be mitigated by something else, like a mastery skill?

Mastery skills don't work like that. For example I have over 600 in melee mastery and 350 in staves. I can still learn staves in baby gryphons, which cap out well under 600 ranks.

He said mitigated, not exacerbated. That leads me to believe he meant mastery might be allowing the staves to hit, if not well enough to train, when they might not otherwise. This might lead one to believe the range was greater than what it really is.

I chalked it up to a mastery issue as well, when I tried backtraining some 50-100ish weapons and got nowhere with bloodvines. Melee and missile mastery in the 300's definitely outranks the bloodvine's cap, so I thought it was too much so... Using the same weapons on the nearby maiden tresses I was able to move them fine (though having a little trouble hitting with the 50 weapon, but still moving the skill fine). The maiden tresses are definitely a bit above the bloodvines, not THAT much, but again I chalked it up to masteries.

However, the numbers from the OP don't add up. Should be doing quite well in there.

Bloodvines are absolutely bugged. They teach defenses just fine for their range but its like they have no defenses themselves. Thats how bad they teach right now. Horrible.

Did these ever get fixed? I'm about to where I think they'd be good training for me, if they work...

>>Nope, still broken.

Bloodvines being utterly defenseless should now be fixed.
