Just wondering if I'll be able to handle the Quartz Gargs as far as combat, skinning and boxes:

No, probably not.

They require combats closer to 150s. You can always go and check, though. Testing new critters in 3.0 isn't as deadly as it was in 2.0.

I think you can. Buff up first. If you get really beat, you can try kashika serpents instead; they'll be totally weak, but they're move your skinning.

Boxes might be seriously hard though, and some of the traps are dangerous. You could practice on Kree pirates, swain, or hatchlings if they're too hard.

Quartz Gargs would be pretty rough where you're at now, especially since they come fairly quickly. You could hit up Granite Gargs in the Premie area of the Crossing and gain another 15 ranks or so in your applicable skills easy and then give it a go. I didn't see any significant slow down in Granite Gargs until my defenses were 139 or so, and while your evasion is there, you can still bring up your shield and parry, not to mention your skinning, weapons, box skills, and stealth. The problem becomes even if you can survive in Quartz Gargs where you're at, I'm almost certain you can't skin, pick/disarm, or hide on them.
