I don't know if this problem extends to other weapon wielding creatures, but I've noticed that Young Ogres spend an excessive amount of time switching back and forth between parry and dodge stance. They would be training well if they didn't spend most of their time switching stances. Here is a sample of about a minute spent dancing with 2:
