I've been reading a novel where the main character uses a simple knife for most of the book, and I've been wondering why DR doesn't have something simply called a combat knife.

We've only got a few daggers, but everything else has a much more specific name and build (stiletto, hawkbill, etc.).

Note: this is about the noun, not fighting knives or combat knives in DR. I'm aware that half or more of the small/light edge templates are knife-size.

There's also been several versions of hunting knives.

I was under the impression they wanted there to be a knife called "Combat Knife" among the list of things buy-able or craft-able.
