Plate cap 01/26/2010 10:14 PM CST
What's the cap for HP half plate?

I'm sporting a 385 stone that appraises at:

>app plate
The half plate is heavy plate.

The plate looks like it offers protection for the following areas:

right arm
left arm
chest
abdomen
back

You feel certain that some half plate appears to impose fair maneuvering hindrance and overwhelming stealth hindrance, offering:
high protection and great damage absorption for puncture attacks.
high protection and great damage absorption for slice attacks.
moderate protection and great damage absorption for impact attacks.
good protection and great damage absorption for fire attacks.
moderate protection and great damage absorption for cold attacks.
poor protection and great damage absorption for electrical attacks.

If you were only wearing some half plate your maneuvering would be minimally hindered and your stealth would be somewhat hindered.
But considering all the armor and shields you are wearing or carrying, you are currently lightly hindered and your stealth is highly hindered.

You are certain that the half plate is fairly sturdy, and is in pristine condition.

The half plate is made with metal.
You believe that the half plate weighs around 390 stones.
You are certain that the half plate is worth exactly 3000 lirums.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

This common? I was comparing armor with someone over aim and he was a bit surprised at the stats.

Are you appraising it with YS up?

Didn't know that made a difference.

You feel certain that some half plate appears to impose moderate maneuvering hindrance and overwhelming stealth hindrance, offering:
high protection and great damage absorption for puncture attacks.
high protection and great damage absorption for slice attacks.
moderate protection and great damage absorption for impact attacks.
good protection and high damage absorption for fire attacks.
moderate protection and high damage absorption for cold attacks.
poor protection and high damage absorption for electrical attacks.

If you were only wearing some half plate you could expect your maneuvering to be lightly hindered and your stealth to be somewhat hindered.

You are certain that the half plate is fairly sturdy, and is in pristine condition.

Is the app in hand.

Cap is relative based on mixing materials. For steel, it is your appraisal but with great slice protection. Need to get very heavy 780'ish to hit that though.

So this is the best I'll get for this weight/hindrance?

I checked some of the other forged plate in my vault and came up with:

300 stone HP half plate

You feel certain that some half plate appears to impose high maneuvering hindrance and overwhelming stealth hindrance, offering:
good protection and good damage absorption for puncture attacks.
good protection and good damage absorption for slice attacks.
fair protection and good damage absorption for impact attacks.
good protection and high damage absorption for fire attacks.
moderate protection and high damage absorption for cold attacks.
poor protection and high damage absorption for electrical attacks.

If you were only wearing some half plate you could expect your maneuvering to be lightly hindered and your stealth to be somewhat hindered.

You are certain that the half plate is well constructed, and is in pristine condition.

and

500 stone HP half plate

You feel certain that some fiery scarlet plate appears to impose great maneuvering hindrance and overwhelming stealth hindrance, offering:
good protection and high damage absorption for puncture attacks.
high protection and high damage absorption for slice attacks.
fair protection and high damage absorption for impact attacks.
good protection and high damage absorption for fire attacks.
moderate protection and high damage absorption for cold attacks.
poor protection and high damage absorption for electrical attacks.

If you were only wearing some fiery scarlet plate you could expect your maneuvering to be fairly hindered and your stealth to be somewhat hindered.

You are certain that the fiery scarlet plate is well constructed, and is practically in mint condition.

If anyone can duplicate the 385 plate I wouldn't mind an extra.

It doesn't matter if you're holding it or wearing it. The armor has the spell on it until it wears off.

If you take it off it deflates after like 5 seconds.

I made sure it deflated first.

No. There are plenty of half-plates out there touching 350 stones which have high/great's. At least four-five forgers make them (two of which are warrior mages, heh) still.

Any idea what kind of FF is needed to get that great slice protection out of Half Plate? Our two active Paladin forgers over in Plat haven't seen it at 8 density when we've long since capped all other plate mixes at that density.
