Just tried this thing out and I gotta say... My god. Even with low strength this thing destroys worlds and only has a 6sec RT. It's now my favorite weapon. Woot!

Yeah, it's beastly. So is the locaber axe.

I've always failed to see the benefit of theses over lets say a greatsword.

That being said though I'm a fan of halberds in general. I'll be very happy the day they fix the halberd mixes.

Any thoughts between the khuj/lochaber axe and the serrated bone-white scythe hung with a pair of sluagh claws?

How's the scythe appraise?

Re: The Khuj 04/20/2010 12:56 AM CDT
You are certain that it could do:
fair puncture damage
heavy slice damage
fair impact damage

You are certain that the scythe is fairly balanced and is reasonably suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

50 or 55 stones, if memory serves.

The scythe is vastly inferior, IMO. It might be decent with lower stats though.

The scythe is perfectly usable, in the sense that there are also 2HE weapons that aren't bastard swords that are usable.

No offense but I don't understand this comment at all...

Once you get your strength high enough you don't use bastard swords you use greatswords. Before that a lot of people choose to use claymores or two-handed swords.

I suspect it was a snarky shot relating to a post in another topic.

No, it's an objective fact. I guess you were just looking for a reason to post the word snarky though?

Says who?

I'd never use a greatsword, or any other horribly balanced weapon, over a bastard sword.

Greatsword blows away the bastard sword in terms of PvE performance. Greatswords have poor balance, they're workable.

Use a shield?

I have a greatsword, I love the pole range for exploding-chest goodness and whirlwind on my Barbarian. I agree I wouldn't use them in a PvP tourney (assuming, for whatever reason, it was a melee tourney or something) but for leucros or goblins or geni or whatever they're perfectly fine.

Right now the Moon Mage place on the "combat pet totem pole" is the part that's sunk into the earth to lower the pole's center of gravity.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is saying bastard swords aren't a great weapon.

I love bastard swords, their great weapons. But nothing says chestsplosion like a greatsword
