OK starter halberd? 12/26/2007 09:03 PM CST

I rolled up a Barbarian and am wanting to get him learning halberd immediately. Is there something storebought worth getting over anything else? As far as the look I was hoping to go for, I really like the sturdy short-hafted halberd.

On the other hand, we sometimes screw up and do something popular. We're working on that, though- GM Dartenian

Check the stuff in Arthe Dale, or get someone to nab you a halberd from Trollkins.

If you can get someone to get you a scythe from a plague wraith...that thing is awesome.

Otherwise Short Hafted is cheap starter.

My suggested progression is short hafted -> wraith scythe -> lochabar axe.

Short halfted would be my recommendation for a starter. Light, durable and pretty cheap. After 100 ranks or so, I would shell out the coin for a partisan if you can find one.

Like Madigan said, short hafted did me just fine for my first 150 or so ranks in halberd. I used the lochabar axe after that until I could find a partisan. I still thank Wabo to this day for that.
