Multi-purpose weapons 05/20/2016 03:57 PM CDT
I'm just coming back after a hiatus and can't remember how (the correct verb) to make multi-purpose weapons (for instance, one weapon that can be used as both a small blunt and a medium or large blunt), assume their individual weapon roles (switch from small blunt, to medium or large blunt). Anyone that can remind me of this verb I'd much appreciate it.

Thanks,

You want SWAP.

That's what I thought originally also, but when I type SWAP it only swaps hands.

Did you actually try SWAP <ITEM> and it still does that? Because if SWAP isn't working it's not a swappable weapon.

Unless it's a special or unique weapon, perhaps? There's unique ones out there with weapon specific verbs to change their types. It might help to know which weapon you're actually using if SWAP <weapon> doesn't work.

You asked this on Reddit. People gave you the same answers and you never followed up...

Post what the weapon is. If it is a bastard sword type, swap sword will do it.

If it's a icy blue blade, you will need to pull and push it. If it's a kadatavar and tail band, you will need to turn it (I think). If it's an exo weapon, you will need to tap it, or something. If it's in a WM ring you need a different verb again.

It's not just one weapon. It's every weapon that has multiple uses. Just one example posted below...but it's true of all my weapons that show dual usage.

> appraise my spear

A flint-tipped spear with a wire-wound ebonwood haft is a heavy thrown and pike melee-ranged weapon.
A flint-tipped spear with a wire-wound ebonwood haft trains the heavy thrown and polearm skills.

You are certain that it could do:
somewhat heavy (8/26) puncture damage
low (3/26) slice damage
low (3/26) impact damage
no (0/26) fire damage
no (0/26) cold damage
no (0/26) electric damage

The flint-tipped spear is dismally (2/17) designed for improving the force of your attacks.

You are certain that the spear is decently (6/17) balanced and is fairly (5/17) suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the flint-tipped spear is appreciably susceptible to damage (7/18), and is in pristine condition (98-100%).

You are certain that the flint-tipped spear weighs exactly 50 stones.
You are certain that the flint-tipped spear is worth exactly 37500 Kronars.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

Any "X thrown and Y weapon" isn't a swappable weapon. Instead, it's a thrown weapon when you use lob/throw/hurl, and a pike (in this case) when you use things like attack, chop, sweep, jab, etc.
