Leather Armor Template Properties/Stats 11/13/2013 02:54 PM CST
Does anyone have any information about the differences (in stats) between the various leather (and cloth) armor templates? I can see the material properties, but most of the template properties have not been filled out yet on Elanthipedia.

I've had leather and cloth data for the different styles of gloves for awhile now. I meant to upload it back when I added the bone armor appraisals but then real life got in the way. I'll try to get that up before the end of this weekend (looks like I might actually have some free time for once) unless someone else beats me to it.

I'm not a tailor so don't judge me on incorrectness. but I think the templates (rugged, thick & coarse) are different in that one protects better for slice, impact or puncture. Notice for example thick, rugged, and course leathers are all 55 yards so their cumulative protection should be the same. Coarse protects better for slice and I think that's why that is the most popular (peaople like slice protection)

It's something like that I think

this is in contrast to metal armors, for example chain has, ring, chain, and mail which are different in size and protection.

Yep. Rugged is puncture > impact > slice, thick is impact > slice > puncture, and coarse is slice > puncture > impact. Same total amount of protection, they just shift around.

Leather is up. I left blanks for materials that I couldn't get myself when I was collecting the data.

And cloth is up. Credit to Danoryiel for providing the data, all I did was format it and put it on Elanthipedia.
