Leather Shirt for Stealth? 12/22/2010 11:26 PM CST
I'm currently wearing...

> app shirt

The chain shirt is light chain.

The shirt looks like it offers protection for the following areas:

right arm
left arm
chest
abdomen
back

You feel certain that a chain shirt with worn leather armwraps appears to impose moderate (4/8) maneuvering hindrance and fair (3/8) stealth hindrance, offering:
good (5/11) protection and high (6/11) damage absorption for puncture attacks.
good (5/11) protection and high (6/11) damage absorption for slice attacks.
good (5/11) protection and high (6/11) damage absorption for impact attacks.
moderate (4/11) protection and good (5/11) damage absorption for fire attacks.
moderate (4/11) protection and good (5/11) damage absorption for cold attacks.
poor (1/11) protection and good (5/11) damage absorption for electrical attacks.

If you were only wearing a chain shirt with worn leather armwraps your maneuvering would be minimally hindered and your stealth would be insignificantly hindered.
But considering all the armor and shields you are wearing or carrying, you are currently lightly hindered and your stealth is lightly hindered.

You are certain that the chain shirt is of average construction (9/18), and is in pristine condition (98-100%).

The chain shirt is made with metal.
The chain shirt is moderately flexible.
You are certain that the chain shirt weighs exactly 278 stones.
You are certain that the chain shirt is worth exactly 1400 lirums.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

Someone gave me the bright idea to swap out this light chain shirt with a leather shirt when attempting to train stealth so I won't suck at hiding. What would be the best substitute for stealth purposes?

Leilond,

I posted some data in the thief folders long ago that might give you some ideas:

The least hindering leather coat I would recommend is black-hide (black goblin) but dark-scale (dark merrow) is close behind it.

I've worn Leather/LC/HC all the way up the creature ladder as a thief with no problems. Once the chains get combined I'm going to start wearing my black-hide coat and chain accessories.

Ahh, interesting data. It looks like the black coat is definitely the way to go for stealth purposes. Do you create these leathers? If so how can I get ahold of you?

Those are just the least hindering, but several others would likely work well also. The scale slides from black-hide to serpent for most damage resistance.

Looks like you and Hanryu are getting it worked out how to get you a coat. He's definitely the man to go to since he knows all about coats and as a ranger tans them perfectly.
