You put your troll-hide coat on the counter.

Naissura hefts the troll-hide coat and puts it on the medium balance scale. She patiently adds small sacks of stones on the other side till the beam becomes exactly level.

Naissura squints at the balance beam needle and says, "The coat weighs about three hundred twelve stones," and puts the coat on the counter.

I would also compare them. Might come up with some differences there to help you decide.

I'd honestly wear neither. Going to the full body leathers weighs the same with better protection for almost no difference in hindrance.

The firecat-skin leathers are leather armor.

The leathers look like they offer protection for the following areas:

right arm
left arm
right leg
left leg
chest
abdomen
back

You feel certain that some perfect firecat-skin leathers appear to impose moderate maneuvering hindrance and fair stealth hindrance, offering:
high protection and moderate damage absorption for puncture attacks.
high protection and moderate damage absorption for slice attacks.
good protection and moderate damage absorption for impact attacks.
fair protection and moderate damage absorption for fire attacks.
low protection and moderate damage absorption for cold attacks.
moderate protection and moderate damage absorption for electrical attacks.

If you were only wearing some perfect firecat-skin leathers your maneuvering would be minimally hindered and your stealth would be insignificantly hindered.
But considering all the armor and shields you are wearing or carrying, you are currently insignificantly hindered and your stealth is lightly hindered.

You are certain that the firecat-skin leathers are quite hard, and are in pristine condition.

The firecat-skin leathers are fairly soft.
You are certain that the firecat-skin leathers weighs exactly 320 stones.
You are certain that the firecat-skin leathers are worth exactly 880 lirums.

Unless the point to the coats is to wear alot of diffrent armors and freeing up the legs to do that. Then I would go with what was previously suggested and compare the two and take it from there.

The compares are the same, forgot to post that, and yes the point is to wear cloth in other areas.

Either would work well for you, but between the two I'd go cave troll.

Coats are pretty simple. For hindrance/weight go black goblin. For damage resistance go serpent. For a best of both worlds compromise go cave troll. But try to get a perfect cave troll coat if you can since that will shave off another 35 stones weight.
