I have recently come back to D. R. after a 5 year absence. I cant seem to get my bow skills to move when training. I have 182 in bow skill, and trying to kill a Leucro takes about 15 arrows, and still bow skill barely moves. Any suggestions as to how I can get skills to move up to mindlocked or close anyway?

Appraise leucro careful while holding your bow in your right hand. You should see messaging that tells you whether or not they challenge your skill and how well they'll teach you.

IIRC poaching or sniping will extend the range a critter will yield bow experience. <- Not sure if I'm just imagining this though.

Check out the hunting ladder and try creatures more difficult than leucros.

Upgrading to a shaped longbow or composite bow and getting modern arrows should help as well.
